About Flange Bolts

Flange bolts

Flange bolts consist of hexagonal head and flange disc (gasket under hexagonal and fixed hexagonal) and screw (cylindrical body with external threads). They need to be matched with nuts to fasten the parts connecting the two through holes.

This connection form is called bolt connection. If the nut is screwed off from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, so the bolt connection is a removable connection.

Flange bolts are classified into the following categories:

1. Hexagonal head type: one is flat brain, the other is concave brain.
2. Surface color categories: according to different needs, the surface has white, military green, yellow, corrosion-resistant Dacromet.
3. Flange Classification: According to the different position of flange bolt, the size requirements of the flange are different, and there are flat bottoms and teeth, teeth play an anti-skid role.
4. There are common and hinged holes according to the way of force acting on connections. Flange bolts for hinged holes should match the size of holes and be used when subjected to transverse forces.
In addition, in order to meet the need of locking after installation, there are holes in the rod, which can keep the bolt from loosening when it is vibrated.

Some flange bolt has no threads of smooth rod parts to be done, called thin rod flange bolts. This kind of flange bolts is conducive to the connection under variable forces.

What is the difference between a washer bolt and a flange bolt?

flange bolts

The effect of using washers instead of flanged nuts and bolts is to increase the number of interfaces within the joint. Since each face will sustain an embedding loss, the net effect of using washers is to increase the loss of bolt tension due to this effect.
